About
A little bit about us
I’m Mark. I have been designing and building websites for contractors and small businesses since 2011, and I still build every one myself. The SyncShepherd team keeps them running.

Mark, somewhere in the Cascades.
The story
It started with contractors who kept getting burned.
The first sites I built were for people I knew: a landscaper, a concrete cutter, a guy with a tree crew. Every one of them had paid for a website before. Some never launched. Some launched and broke, and the person who built it had moved on. One had a contact form that had been silently failing for months, and nobody knew until a customer mentioned it.
So the work turned into two things instead of one. Design and build the site properly, by hand, on a stack I trust. Then stay on it: host it, back it up, patch it, and answer the phone when something changes. That second half became the care plans, and it is the reason most clients are still here years later.
Most of the businesses I work with are trade and home-service contractors, and most of them are outside Washington. That has never been a problem. The site gets built on a private staging link you open on your phone, and nothing goes live until you have seen it.
Since 2011
How it got here.
2011
Web Design by Mark starts, building sites for local businesses in Lewis and Thurston counties.
The care plans
Hosting and maintenance become part of the offer, because a site nobody maintains is a site that breaks.
Beyond Washington
Referrals bring foundation repair in Texas, HVAC in California, and a growing list of trades in a dozen states.
SyncShepherd
The marketing side, ads, SEO campaigns, Google Business Profile, CRM, and reporting, becomes its own brand with its own team.
Today
One team: Mark designs and builds, SyncShepherd hosts, secures, maintains, and markets. Dozens of sites under care.
What we hold to
Three things every client can count on.
Built right the first time
Custom Kadence, no page-builder bloat, fast on a phone, accessible, and any rankings the old site had survive the move. Every site ships on the same hardened stack.
Kept running after launch
Hosting on servers we control, nightly backups, security patched within 48 hours, one phone number that reaches a person. Most agencies drop you at launch. We do not.
Straight answers
Real numbers in reports, conservative claims, and “that is not worth your money” said out loud. You own the domain, the site, and every login.
The team
Mark, plus SyncShepherd.
I design and build every site personally. Behind the hosting, security, updates, and support is the SyncShepherd team, the same people who run marketing for many of these clients. When you call, you get someone who already knows your site. Names and faces are coming to this page as the team grows.
